We are pleased to announce that we have now completed delivery of the RESTORE course to hospices randomised to the intervention arm of the trial.

Delivery of the RESTORE course to hospices began in February 2026 and took place over several months, concluding in September 2026.

Participants taking part in the RESTORE course completed 12-weeks of blended learning, which combined workbook activities and audio-visual materials with live, facilitated sessions led by one of our RESTORE Coaches. We would like to thank all the staff members who took part in the RESTORE course.

We have now begun delivering the RESTORE course to hospices that were randomised to the control/delayed intervention arm of the trial. Our RESTORE Coaches are looking forward to meeting staff from these hospices over the coming months.

We have started to undertake qualitative interviews with 14 RESTORE intervention sites to understand participant experiences. These commenced at week 24 of each hospice trial period and to date, six intervention sites have reached this point, and ten participants have been interviewed.

We have continued to invite Research Champions at each hospice to meetings with the team providing a space for them to ask any questions and share feedback. At the end of the study Research Champions will also be invited to feedback on their experiences of their role so that researchers can learn about strategies to engage staff in research and what support is essential when running large research studies in hospice settings.

We are also grateful to our stakeholder advisory group, consisting of hospice staff, who have advised us on all aspects of our work in the early stages, and will feed in again as we start to analyse data.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the delivery of RESTORE so far. We look forward to sharing further updates as the trial progresses.
